MODERN STICKFIGHTING WITH TRADITIONAL ROOTS
The UCS Eskrima program combines tried and tested traditional training principles with a modern reality-based methodology. Throughout the course of this program, students develop the techniques and combat attributes required to effectively handle one-handed Eskrima forms, two-handed Eskrima forms and Espada y Daga (stick and knife). The physical attributes and combat traits developed throughout this program are essential to becoming a holistic martial artist and a proficient, reality-based weapons combatant. Many of the principles and techniques used in Eskrima are applicable to other armed combat forms. In terms of reality-based self defence, Eskrima has applications in attacks using makeshift weapons such as baseball bats, hockey sticks, pipes, broom handles and more.
